Tems Biography, Songs and Awards

Temilade Openiyi born on the 11th of June, 1995 popularly known as Tems, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, who is into Afro music, Regga and Blues and the rest of them. She was raised in Lagos, during her tender years her parent divorced. She completed her secondary education at Dowen Secondary School, then while in secondary school she learnt how to play the guitar and piano as she was always noticed singing. She had tertiary education at a renounced school in South Africa.

Music Career

Before Tems rose to fame, her favourite artists Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Destiny Child. Now you may wonder why Destiny Child is included here, this is because her mother always wanted her to listen to Gospel music, other artist she fanned were Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid etc.

She quitted her job, for music and began learning music production skills online. She released her debut single on the 18th of June, 2018 which was titled “Mr Rebel”, which she produced by herself, later on she dropped another mind blowing Jam titled “Try Me” wow this song, I can say actually rose her to fame, as it had massive airplay on radio and streaming platforms.

Tems has featured international artists, some of them are Wizkid, Khalid etc. Currently she is one of the most rated female artist in Africa.
