Born on the 2nd July 1991, Damini Ebunulowa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian Singer, songwriter, Dancer and Rapper who hails from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He is into Afropop, Pop, Reggae and Dancehall music. His father managed a wielding company, while his mother was a language translator. He attended Carona Secondary School in Agbara, Ogun State for his secondary education, as time went on he travelled abroad to further his studies, where he studied Media Technology at the University of Sussex thereafter, studied Media Communication and Culture at Oxford Brookes University.

Music Career: Burna Boy’s debut album was released on the 12th of August, 2012, the album sold, 40,000 copies on the first day, this happened when he was still under Aristokrat Records. Before then he had singles prior to this, which was Run my Way, Yawa Dey, Always love you, Like to Party, Tonight. In 2015 Burna Boy left Aristokrat Records for Spaceship Entertainment, there he released another album titled “On a Spaceship”. After his debut album and few other albums, Burna was obviously making good music overseas, he rose to limelight in Afropop in 2019, when he released his hit single tited “On the Low” this song had massive airplay on radios, and it top charts on streaming platforms. A good number of international Afro music art, has featured the artist, which are Wizkid, Zlatan and others.

Awards: Burna Boy is a very big artist in Afropop, his other names are African Giant, Odugwu. He has won a good number of awards since he began his career. In 2020 he won the Grammy Award in London. This was a big win for him, as he and Wizkid was nominated for the Award.
