Popular Nigerian singer, song writer and award winning artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, who is been known as Wizkid, was born on the 16th of July, 1990 in Surulere Lagos. He has twelve siblings, he father is a Muslim while his mother is a Christian.

Music Career

Starboy as he is otherwise been called, started singing in his choir, he and his choir crew formed a choral group called the glorious five, he was formerly called “Lil Prinz”, he was a student of Lead City University, but dropped out of school to fully pursue his music career. During his tender age he loved listening to King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti. He was present during Sound Sultan’s debut album, and he was present when 2face Idibia (now 2Baba) recorded his grass to grace album. In 2009 the CEO, Empire Music Emirates signed Wizkid, starboy gradually started recording and releasing songs, one of the songs that trended then, was “Holla at your Boy”. He has collaborated with a good number of artists which includes: Beyonce, Tiwa Savage, Duncan Mighty, Olamide etc. He is unarguably the biggest artist in Africa.
