When was Mavins Record Founded?

Before now the Chief Executive Officer of Mavins Record, Don Jazzy before the creation of this label, was outside Nigeria, collaborating with international music artists, like Kenye west, Beyonce, Rihanna and the rest of them, as time went on he returned to Nigeria. Coming to Nigeria, he formed a record label called “Mohits”. This housed artist like D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, then one thing led to the other, D’Banj announced his exit from the group as well Dr. Sid, then this made Don Jazzy rename the group from “Mohits” to “Mavins” Record, this was on the 8th of May 2012.

After the creation of the record label, Don jazzy commenced signing of artist. The first set of artist, signed into the Label were Wande Coal, Inyanya and Tiwa Savage.

Wande Coal was discovered during a school show at the university where he studied, and was picked by Don Jazzy, since then he became a Star. He has released a good number of songs, one of those songs is “Baby face” it was stated that he released the song without the consent of his boss. After wards he signed Tiwa Savage, which he admired her vocals and style.
