What is Music?
Now you may find this as being irrelevant, for this
discussion, but it still needs to be obvious. When talking, we produce sounds,
this sounds are meaningful and at other times it may be meaning. Hence, I will
define music as sound which is pleasant to the ear. From my definition of music, one may ask is
playing of sounds music? Of course yes. This is when it gives melody, and when
it gives melody it is music. Recall in the holy writ David used good tunes from
a Harp to chase away an Evil Spirit from Soul, this is to say music is very
powerful.
Types of Sounds/Genres of Music
Generally if you are not giving melody from a tune, you are
automatically making noise. To this aid, we have two types of sounds which are
Music Sound and Noise.
Okay, looking into the Genres of music, I am going to take
you through contemporary music genres, below are the list of contemporary music
genres.
Reggae
Blues

considering in this article.
These music genres, differs in rhythm, and beat style, which
means you do not need to be told that a

because they different in style.
Best Nigerian Music producers you should know
Behind any good song, is an talented and inspired music
producer, as we have gotten to the climax of our discussion, having knowing
what music is, it genres and types of sound, it’s time to know the
personalities behind these good, mind – blowing songs.
At the beginning, middle or towards the end of some songs, I
saying some songs here because not all songs have the hashtag (the producer’s
name) referenced. A typical example of this kind of songs are songs made by Don
Jazzy, we all know Don Jazzy is a label boss, beat producer and singer as well,
he has never added a hashtag, which is been heard as a backup vocal on any
songs he produces. The foremost hashtags behind our cool afro music tunes are:
Young Jonn: You must
have heard this in song “Itz Young Jonn the wizked producer” ye, that is his
hashtag, he has recorded cool songs for Olamide and other Afro Singers.
Speroach: Do you know this guy, he has produced songs for Davido and afro singers, in any song he
produces you will hear his hashtag which “Speroach” just that.

Rexxie: “You Rexxie pon this one” that is his hashtag, he
has produced songs for Burna Boy, Naira marley and the rest of them.
Samklef: Now samcklef just like Don Jazzy, like I said
ealier is among one of those beat/music
producers who do not add their hashtag on any song he mixes, which is to say
the singer may do that to his favour, on choice. Typical example is in the song
he recorded for Ice Prince (Papa God Noni), there you will hear Ice Prince
reference him when he said “Samklef Noni”, he is a good beat/music producer.
Fresh VDM: “Damp Fresh on the Beat” that’s the hashtag of
this young man, he has mixed songs for Davido, Rema and the others.
Spellz: Have you played an afro song and heard this hashtag “spellz”,
ye he is one of Nigeria’s foremost beat/music producers, mixed mind blowing
songs for Runtown, Sarkodie and the rest of them.
