Origin
Victor James Osimhen born 29 December 1998) is a Nigerian
professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Napoli and the Nigeria
national team. His parents are from Edo
State and are of the Esan ethnic group of Nigeria.
He grew up in the Olusosun area in Oregun/Ojotaof Lagos
State, where he was born. Growing up, his footballing idol was Didier Drogba.

Football Career
Victor James Osimhen, started his playing for the Nigeria
national team by first of all playing for the U17, this was in 2015, then as
time went on, he graduated and started playing for the U23 in 2019. One thing

Serie A.
Osimhen won the Golden Boot award at the 2015 FIFA U-17
World Cup, which Nigeria won. He made his senior international debut in
June2017, and played at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and 2023, reaching
the final of the latter tournament. He is currently the joint-third all-time highest
goal scorer of the Nigeria national team. Osimhen finished in eighth place at
the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony, becoming the first Nigerian to make the top ten
of the French award. He was also named the African Footballer of the Year at
the 2023 CAF Awards, the first Nigerian to receive this honour since Nwankwo
Kanu in 1999.
